Bringing dignity, ability & hope to every special life – Since 1960

It all began with a small step to bring about a change, to impact lives of those who need attention and special care. AMC – Association for the Mentally Challenged has been a beacon of hope for hundreds of families with special children navigating the journey of intellectual and cognitive disabilities. For over four decades, AMC has dedicated itself to the care, education, and empowerment of individuals with Intellectual Development Disorder (IDD) — creating a nurturing space where they are seen, understood, and uplifted.
At AMC, we believe that every child, regardless of their learning pace or challenges, deserves an opportunity to grow with dignity. From special education tailored to slow learners to hands-on life skills training and livelihood support, our programs are built to meet the realworld needs of children and young adults with intellectual and learning disabilities.

Through structured skill training, our students craft beautiful handmade products — thoughtful creations that represent both ability and heart. These products for a cause not only promote self-worth but also provide a tangible means to support our initiative
AMC is a CSR-compliant Bangalore NGO, and we welcome CSR partnerships with corporate allies who share our vision of an inclusive and empowered society. Together, we can provide support for care-givers, strengthen our infrastructure, and bring greater focus to empowerment through education and employment.
